Giving Back

Did you know that when you book an elopement or micro-wedding with Promise Mountain, a portion of your package cost is donated to Project R12?

Why give back? After spending several years working with non-profits and traveling before starting Promise Mountain, founder and owner, Michaela Potterbaum had seen first-hand how there were endless resources in the western world of business. It had always been her heart to see it given back to the areas and the people who needed it the most!

What is Project R12? Project R12 is a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to seeing nations transformed by investing in people through sustainable solutions. They have built schools, wells, and have provided vocational job training! They specifically invest in job training for single moms and young men who are on the street, who not only need jobs, but also mentoring! Over 1600 women have gone through their training program and they have seen hope restored in the lives of these women who had been forgotten, when all they needed was an opportunity!

Why Project R12? We chose to partner with Project R12, because we personally know the founders and we have seen, firsthand, the impact of PR12 in Africa! They are extremely effective with what they have been given and we love seeing lives and nations impacted! We especially love that their model is to empower locals to run these organizations and be a massive part of the change that is happening!

“We’re so excited for your wedding, because it is going to play a direct role in kids receiving education and clean water for the very first time in their lives! Congratulations!”
