Where to Eat & Drink

Exploring nature is fun of course, but we can only go so far without some good cuisine to refill our energy. Here are some best local favorites within Glacier National Park general area: Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Bigfork, and Lakeside.

Mackenzie River Pizza Company

North Kalispell

Quickly accessible and easily enjoyable. Mackenzie River makes some of the finest pizza in the valley (rivaled only by Bullman’s.) Their name sells them short, though, since they also serve succulent burgers and exquisite pasta dishes.

Ciao Mambo

Whitefish

Speaking of pasta, Ciao Mambo is easily the best Italian restaurant within a 300 mile radius. The atmosphere is delightful and the food itself is sublime enough to reasonably be the best meal of your trip.

Pasta and Pizza aren’t the only things for sale, you can even take home a piece of art from their walls!

The Best Italian in the Area

Gunsight Saloon

Columbia Falls

To get that true, wild west experience, head over to Gunsight Saloon in downtown Columbia Falls.

Columbia Falls will have some of the last restaurants on the way out to Glacier National Park. You might find a few spots to eat around Hungry Horse on your way out of the valley, but they will be much sparser.

The Tamarack

Lakeside

Let’s put it this way, the Tamarack is so good that some locals are willing to drive an hour from Kalispell to Lakeside just to eat there. As a brewery it produces some of the best beer in the area and it serves celestial burgers, sandwiches, and soups.

Flathead Lake Brewing Company

Bigfork

Breweries are probably what Montana does best! This is one of Bigfork’s most popular options.

(Insider tip: If you’ve spent a day out on Flathead Lake and feel utterly famished, Burger Town is just across the street from Wayfarer’s State Park. It may not look like much, but it’s an all-time favorite.)
